Our Story
The Lenape (pronounced Len-a-pE) organization formed in 1978 and was named for a region of Chester County, Pennsylvania in which the original partners were looking to invest and develop.
The region was named for the Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe who were among the earliest residents of the Mid-Atlantic region along the Delaware River in New York, New Jersey and Delaware. Though the project never evolved, the name remained and the company went on to become what is today – Lenape Builders Incorporated.
Having built thousands of homes over the past 40 years, Lenape Builders Inc. has built a diverse portfolio of quality new homes throughout Delaware, South-eastern Pennsylvania, and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. From luxurious custom home communities such as Belle Terre in Hockessin, Delaware, to planned communities such as Middletown Village in Middletown, Delaware, and numerous individualized custom home projects throughout the region, we at Lenape Builders pride ourselves on our ability to meet the needs of any customer.
